Engagement Parties!
We're having a couple more engagement parties in the next couple weeks; Jamie's mum and Charlie are throwing us one at their home in Worthing this Saturday, and we're having one at our favourite local wine bar in London the first weekend in September. Stay tuned... photos to follow!

Michigan Engagement Party
To celebrate our engagement we had a wine and cheese party at the Boynton cottage in Little Point Sable, MI this afternoon.
It was lovely to celebrate with some family and friends who have known Katy since she was a child and who I have started to get to know in the past 3 summers I have spent holidays at the Point.
We're excited for further engagement parties back in Britain!

Engagement
After a walk on the beach I asked Katy to marry me outside Katy's parents' cottage at Little Point Sable. Katy's brother, Ben, was sailing at the time and reportedly "almost fell out of the boat" at seeing me go down on one knee. Katy freaked out so much that she forgot to say yes - I had to ask a second time!
After a few minutes we headed up to the cottage and celebrated with a 2000 Dom Perignon Champagne that I had hidden away earlier that morning after asking her Dad for permission.
Later that evening we celebrated with a tasty Pekadills sandwich, sunset over the lake and looked forward to the celebrations to come!
